After presenting a Sunday Pre-Con session with Corey Hynes, I asked him to sit down with me and talk about one of the truely game changing features in Windows Server 2008 R2: Direct Access.

Would this work with SBS 2008 then.  Sounds like most of the work is done for you.  We have a cert already, AD already... We have to setup the websites and we need an another public IP address..... any info for SBS?

SBS a single server machine which drives all of your small business needs. Today when I look at DA, you need to have a number of services / servers setup to support this platform, so it would be challenging of SBS.

For Essential Business Server, I certainly hope that this is one of the scenarios that they are going to support.

EBS is definitely looking into supporting Direct Access (but I don't think has officially announced supporting it yet).  This was mentioned in my interview with the PM here: http://edge.technet.com/Media/EBS-remote-access-video-interview/
