It's pretty slick - you can use the trouble ticket tool to drive activities in Operations Manager. This way your help desk people can have basic operations activities performed without requiring administrative permissions or OpsMan access.
You can find out more about Service Manager here. Oh, and look, you can take it for a test drive.

<evnet:views>20227</evnet:views><evnet:viewtrackingurl>http://edge.technet.com/3390/WebViewBug.aspx?EVT=0</evnet:viewtrackingurl><evnet:previewtext>While at MMS last April, I ran in to Clare Henry on the Ask the Experts night, and she introduced me to a few members of her team and got a demo for me of Service Manager.

opportunity to ask questions of executives in Microsoft's System Center Division.
Brad Anderson, the General Manager of System Center, was the first of these Execs, and he answered questions on the future of hosted management services from Microsoft, the UI in the System Center Admin tools, and shared some of his own thoughts on the importance of the Management community.
The lounge area lighting wasn't the best, and we didn't have mics on the folks asking questions, but Brad does a good job of repeating their questions in his answers.

<evnet:views>12244</evnet:views><evnet:viewtrackingurl>http://edge.technet.com/3096/WebViewBug.aspx?EVT=0</evnet:viewtrackingurl><evnet:previewtext>New this year at MMS was the Community Lounge, which offered a comfy place to sit, some nifty swag, and an opportunity to ask questions of executives in Microsoft's System Center Division.

through building 44 on my way back from a meeting and I saw this conference room decked out with a ton of laptops on the table. Normally that's not a strange sight as most meetings look like that, but there were no people attached to them and Jeff Wettlaufer and Wally Mead were in the room. Jeff, Wally and the rest of the team were building a VERY COOL keynote demo for the MMS 2009 conference demonstrating migration of 20 laptop computers from XP SP3 to Windows 7 over WIRELESS! Yes I said WIRELESS! Check out the video and stay tuned for a second part shot from backstage here in Las Just wanted to let you all know that Joey and I will be in Vegas all next week covering the Microsoft Management Summit (MMS) conference.
We've already seen a little bit of what's coming at the conference, and I gotta tell you, it's some cool stuff.
If we're not filming some cool new technology, you'll probably find us in the Community Lounge. If you're attending, keep an eye out for us and say hi. We may have something for you ;)

<evnet:views>10029</evnet:views><evnet:viewtrackingurl>http://edge.technet.com/2867/WebViewBug.aspx?EVT=0</evnet:viewtrackingurl><evnet:previewtext>It's Vegas!
