We got Jay Paloma, Deployment Technical Specialist from the Singapore Office to tell people how they can be ready for Windows 7.

The key is, if you are ready for Vista, you will be ready for Windows 7.

Jay shows us how to use a free tool called Application Compatiblity Toolkit, and use it to help us manage AppCompat.

Remember, if your application can run in Vista, it can run in Windows 7.

Everyone's excited about Windows 7, so am i. However, i do notice a new generation of computing equipment, commonly known as Netbooks.

They are much lower in specs. Normally featuring an Intel Atom with 1 or 2GB of ram. Now Win7 is much more capable of running on Netbooks.

This video shows you how you can install Win7 on netbooks, which do not normally come with a DVD Drive. The video shows you how to prepare a USB drive with the installation bits and install off it.

Here in Singapore, we started a LAMP2WIMP project team. Focus, to help PHP application owners realize that Windows Server 2008, IIS7 can be an option for them when running PHP applications.

In this video, we interviewed Tian Yan, founder of Tyler Projects on the benchmark exercise which we did here in MIC Singapore. Windows 2008 in this benchmark, beats both centos and fedora.

Matty caught up with me and did a video for "ANWYCDFYSBWYSCDFY" video. I know its super duper long. It stands for "Ask not what you can do for your server, but what your server can do for you".

In this video, Matty asked me about what i was doing to be Green. So in the MIC, using Hyper-V, i mounted on a project to consolidate servers and reduced power consumption. We briefly talked about what was done and the benefits of it.

Server Core + IIS7 + PHP + MySQL

Wow. Take Windows Server 2008 Server Core + PHP + IIS7 + MySQL + WordPress, mix them together, will they blend well and work out as a nice concoction? Matty challenged me to this blend, and guess what, we have a powerful cocktail to offer after all!

I scuffled around to see if anyone had come up with this powerful blend. Surprisingly, no one offered it on Server Core. There are bits and pieces everywhere, but none quite fit the blend we needed. I then decided to take up Matty’s challenge and come up with one.

With my buddy Matty, we decided to take a spin for it (He challenged me to it). The whole ordeal was over in a day and we finally got it working. Thanks to another great pal in the next cube, Chris Ismael (Interop Expert).

Alright, here is the story on my adventure.
