Andrew Dugdell is a known for his technical talks at TechEd in the past, but this year, he offered a session that was a little lighter:  Windows 7 After Dark, all the stuff in Windows 7 that's fun for you at home.
Andrew gave me a quick rundown of some of the things in his session like Media Center and touch screen integration.
Even cooler though, Andrew showed off the arcade unit he built on Windows 7 as a hobby project.
Andrew's next project is a cocktail style arcade unit, which means retiring this stand up unit, so we got to witness that, too.
Andrew's how-to presentation on building an arcade unit can be found at http://www.tinyurl.com/buildwin7

Thanks Andrew for posting this video. After the hasty roll out of Vista a couple of years ago, I watched many of my friends grapple with the bugs and crashes that arose from the first generation of that OS. I was so pleased that I had tried and trusted XP and that I didn't lose worktime ironing out bugs or on the phone to tech support. Here we are two years later and Windows 7 is on the market and comes preinstalled on many new laptops. Do we have any guarantee that first adopters of Windows 7 won't suffer as their early Vista brethren did? I like the fact that many cheap laptops and netbooks come preinstalled with Windows XP home. I think it's great that you roll out new OS's like Windows Seven, but please keep supporting the old ones like XP with updates so that the cusomer has choice.
