Microsoft backup and recovery for Microsoft’s newest SQL Server platform. Jason Buffington, Senior Technical Product Manager for System Center Data Protection Manager, discusses how DPM2007 protects SQL Server databases using the SQL Server VSS writer and transaction log backup and recovery capabilities. In addition, he covers what came in the DPM 2007 ‘Rollup Update’ and is coming in DPM2007 Service Pack 1, specifically for SQL Server 2008 – including mirrored database protection and some interesting migration tips from SQL Server 2005.
