Marcus Murray, security consultant at TrueSec, shows us a hacking demo he created of Windows 7 using Excel over the internet.  After this he explains what security features in Windows 7 you could have used to prevent this hack from occurring.  He also talks about an interesting little-known security feature called “Authentication Mechanism Assurance” in Windows Server 2008 R2 which enables smart card dynamic group membership.

I work at a Sarasota Computer Repair company and are see a large portion of customer base really excited about windows 7, after Vista it is good to see Microsoft going in the right direction.

We have been planning to upgrade our computers at our website selling organic baby clothing but this video makes me take pause. What other security holes are lurking out there somebody can hack into my systems. Is Vista more secure?

As Marcus states in the video, he does feel Windows 7 is more secure than Vista.  You should also note that the attack he shows is based upon a someone executing a macro file from OFFICE, not Windows.  There are quite a few things which could have prevented this attack such as making the user a standard user (not admin), applocker, or restricting Office to not allow unknown macros to execute.
