Mike Chan, PM for the Forefront team, breaks down the differences between security protection for Forefront Protection for Exchange (FPE) and Forefront Online Protection for Exchange (FOPE).  We start out with a brief history of the messaging products and then dig into the details of differences between FPE and FOPE and how it plugs into Exchange 2010 on the whiteboard at [4:22].  Should you run FPE alone or FPE and FOPE?  Watch and decide.

The presenter mentioned nothing about the built-in Exchange 2010 filtering capability. He neglected to describe the base vehicle trim (in his own terms), leaving audience wondering what kind of a vehicle is in the first place. From the presentation, it appears that Exchange 2010 has only the hooks for protection, which must be bolted on. This is clearly not the case and is extremely misleading.

Maxus,

Thanks for your comment. The online service actually is similar to moving your Exchange Edge servers into the cloud. The purpose of this talk was to highlight protection capabilities of Forefront in the cloud vs on-premise.

Good information. Thanks for the great quality. New Wave Oven
