Mike Chan, PM for the Forefront team, breaks down the differences between security protection for Forefront Protection for Exchange (FPE) and Forefront Online Protection for Exchange (FOPE).  We start out with a brief history of the messaging products and then dig into the details of differences between FPE and FOPE and how it plugs into Exchange 2010 on the whiteboard at [4:22].  Should you run FPE alone or FPE and FOPE?  Watch and decide.

The presenter mentioned nothing about the built-in Exchange 2010 filtering capability. He neglected to describe the base vehicle trim (in his own terms), leaving audience wondering what kind of a vehicle is in the first place. From the presentation, it appears that Exchange 2010 has only the hooks for protection, which must be bolted on. This is clearly not the case and is extremely misleading.

Maxus,

Thanks for your comment. The online service actually is similar to moving your Exchange Edge servers into the cloud. The purpose of this talk was to highlight protection capabilities of Forefront in the cloud vs on-premise.

July 15, 2009 (San Diego’s East County) – A pair of state and federal legal decisions further muddy the future of Sunrise Powerlink, the 150-mile-long high voltage line proposed by San Diego Gas & Electric  (SDG&E), a Sempra Energy company. One cleared a hurdle for the utility company at the state level while also opening the door to future legal challenges, the second imposes a significant barrier into SDG&E’s plans to build Powerlink on key federal lands.

“The power line should never have been approved in the first place and now is much farther from getting all its permits or beginning construction,” said Donna Tisdale founder of BAD. “Each year of delay means less risk of wildfire, less upset to property owners and communities, and less likelihood that the line will be extended north through even more private property to Los Angeles."
