Want to learn how to "Boot from VHD" with the new operating systems we have coming?  How about "Dual Boot" with Windows 7 and Windows Server 2008 R2 ???

It's simpler than you think.  Checkout this video and see the full background and details at http://blogs.technet.com/keithcombs/archive/2009/05/22/dual-boot-from-vhd-using-windows-7-and-windows-server-2008-r2.aspx.

@chaltrye Yes, this can be done on a removable hard drive.  In fact, it can be done on a USB stick if you want (http://www.markwilson.co.uk/blog/2009/07/running-windows-from-a-usb-flash-drive.htm)

If the boot loader can't find the VHD, then it's still on the Boot Manager menu but you will get an error if you try to load it (just as you would with a corrupted entry for a non-VHD entry).

Thanks a lot, there hasn't been much discussion about how to actually do it, until now.
