Want to learn how to "Boot from VHD" with the new operating systems we have coming?  How about "Dual Boot" with Windows 7 and Windows Server 2008 R2 ???

It's simpler than you think.  Checkout this video and see the full background and details at http://blogs.technet.com/keithcombs/archive/2009/05/22/dual-boot-from-vhd-using-windows-7-and-windows-server-2008-r2.aspx.

Hey, great video! I love the idea of an encapsulated environment... Now I can store operating systems on my external hard drive and boot them whenever I need them! I guess VHD files will also be good backup media, hopefully Microsoft will add support for compression. Can't wait until October 22...

The technet email states "You can download the videos below to your Zune or other video-enabled player, phone, and of course, your laptop, to watch at your favorite beach or summer getaway location."   Just how do you do that?

This is interesting... so can this be done on an external hard drive?  If so, any idea how the boot manager will react if the external drive isn't online at next boot?  Ideally it would ignore the option (much like VPC).  Worst case it would hang the boot...

Also, I'm assuming it wouldn't be a good idea to run this same VHD from a boot prompt as well as VPC?  My guess is that the drivers would need to be different...

Typically - Click on the "Formats" box directly below the video player, right-click the format you'd like, choose Save Target As.  However, it looks like Keith hasn't used our method to post it in multiple formats...  I'll email him.

期待7300RTM,WIN7用着确实比之前的系统好了很多,加油微软
