You should buy a Jawbone headset.  It does real noise-canceling.  You'll be able to do voice even if there's a ton of background.  There used to be a video on the site showing a guy on the phone beside a person using a gas-powered weed-eater.  My experience has been equal to what they do on the video.

One of our suppliers had the TYTN.  He loved the phone except for the battery life.   HSDPA seems to be the magic killer on these units.  I'm not sure who's at fault in this one.   Turning off 3G/HSDPA on my phone on Fido makes it run faster.

A really nice person at Microsoft Canada pointed out the voice control on the 6.   Oh this is sweet.  Now I just need to squeeze out $50 for some voice recognition software so I can "Twitter without typing"... :)

Unfortunately my little Geo Tracker is WAY too noisy inside and ruins the full experience on "voice control".

Not the phone's fault... Mine... :)

No my "Generous Angels" were the coolest bunch of people at Microsoft Canada.  The Community Evangelists.   I guess they must have heard I was down on my luck and must be enjoy their Friday Funnies.

That and maybe to get me to learn a lesson about data plans.   555 emails in one day.  OUCH!

Cheers all

I have the HTC TyTN (similar to the AT&T Tilt) running windows mobile 6.  It's ok, but it's bigger than I'd like and I miss being able to actually push the number keys to dial out instead of messing with the touchpad.  I'd like to get one of the HTC touches, but I don't want to drop $500+.  I'm considering the Pantech Duo instead.  Anyone like or dislike this phone?

ooh, this is a timely thread.  My SDA is falling apart and I'm in the market for a replacement.  I'd like to get an HTC S710.  It's not currently offered by my carrier, T-Mobile, but they are doing a deal on the t-mobile Shadow - anyone played with one of those and have feedback on it?

Another generous angel gave my wife a Palm Treo 750 to my wife for Christmas (that angel being me).  She really loves hers too.  Loudest ring I've ever heard on a mobile phone, which is pretty much the killer feature for her phone, as far as I'm concerned.  No more "I didn't hear it ringing at the bottom of my purse buried shoved under the seat of the car with the stereo cranked up."

What's everybody out there running for a Smartphone?

I had some rather "generous angels" drop a Palm Treo 750w on my lap for Christmas... LOVE THIS THING!

Plays a mean game of solitaire too... :)
